Day 3-4 - June 30-July 1

Image
We made the drive to New York and now we are residing in Lake George, NY which is about 50 miles north of Albany.  Yesterday we spent most of the day making that drive.  Had a great lunch at Gene's Fish Fry and then pizza for dinner last night.  It has also rained alot over the last 24 hours. Today we did some white-water rafting which was incredible.  It was raining the whole time and because of all the rain the Hudson River was running about 3-4 feet above what us normal for the beginning of July.  The guides were excited to take us out and we had a blast riding the rapids. Tomorrow we will be going to church in the morning and then reporting to our servant site in the afternoon.  Hope to have some pics of us serving the next post but here is some of us rafting.

Day 2 - June 29

Today was a day for being patriotic as we visited Boston and walked the Freedom Trail.  It was a great experience and we walked almost 9 miles and 29 floors.  Our feet were a little tired at the end of the day.  We saw the Old North Church, USS Constitution, Bunker Hill, Paul Revere's home and the grave sites of Sam Adams and Ben Franklin's parents.  We visited several churches where people sit in boxes and actually had to purchase their box seats every year.  (New youth fundraiser?!?!?!)  We got back to the hotel around 10:15 p.m., had devotions and it was bedtime.  Thanks for all the prayers.  So far everything is running like clockwork.  God is good. Day I - June 28 recap

It was an early morning as we met at the airport in SD at 4:45.  Boarded our plane and it all looked good until we stopped and had to wait in hour on the tarmac.  That resulted in us being an hour late to Baltimore and we ended up with a pretty brisk walk/jog to our next flight.  All was good into Albany.  Got our rental cars with no problems and had dinner at Red Robin.  We are spending the night in Springfield, MA and look forward to visiting Boston tomorrow.  It is so much cooler here and some of us are worried that we didn't pack enough warm clothes.  See tomorrow for some pics of Boston.

Off we go!!
